Full-time Faculty in Accounting

About the role

Full-time tenure-track Assistant Term‑Tenure Track position in Accounting at Messiah University, beginning August 1, 2027. The role is within the School of Arts, Culture and Society, Department of Business. Focus area: Education & Research, General Accounting.

The Department of Business is ACBSP‑accredited, the largest department in the School, home to ten business majors and the International Business Institute, with 13 full‑time faculty members. It educates students for a lifetime of intellectual exploration, ethical leadership, and exceptional professional practice within a complex world, delivering most undergraduate instruction in person with occasional online coursework.

Messiah University is a nationally ranked, accredited Christian university of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, serving over 2,700 undergraduate and 900 graduate students. Responsibilities

• Teach eight sections of Accounting courses each year (Financial Accounting, Survey of Accounting, Basic Income Tax, Federal Business Taxes, Federal Individual Income Taxes), with potential to teach one or two finance or economics courses.
• Advise undergraduate Accounting and Business Administration majors.
• Provide departmental service.
• Oversee the VITA program.
• Perform institutional service.

Qualifications

Successful candidates for an Assistant Term‑Tenure Track position (rank based on qualifications and experience) are preferred to hold a CPA (with MBA) or a Doctoral degree in accounting; an MBA will be considered. One to five years of teaching experience at a college or university is preferred.
