Full Time- Experienced Family Medicine NP/PA Opportunity - South Texas Health System Clinics

About the role

A Family Medicine NP or PA position is available in the McAllen/Edinburg area of South Texas Health System Clinics. Comprehensive primary care services are provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care services
• Prioritize family medicine experience
• Collaborate with STHS Clinics physicians, managed care resources, and STHS Clinics Regional Quality
• Support ER and Inpatient population post-discharge
• Cover for physicians during vacation or sick days
• Rotate on-call after hours and weekends
• Interview patients for proper documentation and preventive screenings
• Educate on appropriate use of Emergency Rooms vs. Urgent Cares
• Collaborate with physicians on coding, risk adjustment metrics, documentation, and quality protocols

Requirements

• Spanish fluency strongly preferred
• Support Medicare-aged population on a Medicare Advantage Plan and Medicaid population
• Access to freestanding ERs and specialty referral network

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as an NP or PA in the state of Texas
• Experience in a clinical setting

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
