Job Summary
The Youth Care Advocate ensures professional, safe care in a secure environment, applying YMCA, DCF, and DEEC policies. They interact and counsel clients, maintaining a positive role model and enhancing client self-worth.
Program/Department Responsibilities
- Ensure all security procedures are followed.
- Closely monitor clients during daily activities and night routines.
- Plan and supervise activities during free time.
- Complete paperwork and documentation, including log entries, incident reports, and meal count sheets.
- Prevent and manage crisis situations.
- Attend and participate in required meetings and trainings.
- Maintain required certifications and adhere to CARF standards.
- Work as part of a team, follow policies, and adhere to dress code.
- Assist other OCY programs and assume PIC responsibilities as assigned.
- Ensure emergency procedures are posted and followed.
- Complete supply inventories and provide professional telephone service.
- May require use of personal vehicle for Old Colony Y assignments.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Must complete yearly DEEC requirements and OCY training programs.
- Active and valid drivers license required.
