About the role
The hospice aide (CNA) is a paraprofessional member of the interdisciplinary group who works under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient's personal needs and to promote comfort.
Responsibilities
- Perform personal care needs after given a patient's assignment and attending to his/her requests promptly.
- Meet the safety needs of patients and use equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, O2 etc.).
- Perform personal care tasks including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos, and changing bed linen as often as assigned.
- Assist in dressing and undressing patients as assigned.
- Assist in feeding the patient as assigned.
- Assess and report on patients’ condition and significant changes to the case manager.
- Adhere to the organization's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct.
- Perform other CNA duties as assigned by management to support department goals and initiatives.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Meet the training and certification requirements of the State.
- Possess and maintain current CPR certification.
- Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with organization requirements and is in good working order.
- Able to show empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired.
- Prolonged standing and walking required, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move patients.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent. Meet the training and certification requirements of the State. Possess and maintain current CPR certification. Schedule
Full Time; (40) hours / week. Works in patients' home in various conditions. Ability to work flexible schedule, ability to travel locally and ability to participate in holiday and weekend rotation as appropriate.
