Full-time Clothing Supervisor - Fort Worth Texas Temple

About the role

Ensures temple ordinances are kept pure, recorded accurately, and made available to worthy Church members by:

  • Providing an environment where patrons may have a positive and uplifting experience each time they come to the temple.
  • Maintaining and operating temples at standards established by the First Presidency.
  • Providing clean and well-cared-for temple clothing and other linen supplies for patrons, workers, and employees, and ensuring an adequate inventory is maintained.

Responsibilities

  • 5% Maintains staff of workers (approximately 3–15 employees and 5–50 Church Service workers) by interviewing prospects and making recommendations to the Temple Recorder.
  • 10% Oversees training of new workers through personal orientations, pairing new workers with experienced workers for detailed instruction, and monitoring interactions.
  • 15% Ensures prompt, cheerful service to patrons desiring temple clothing through proper scheduling and supervision of workers.
  • 20% Supervises staff to maintain discipline and high morale. Monitors and evaluates performance, prepares time sheets, and logs volunteer support hours.
  • 5% Maintains adequate inventory of rental clothing, cleaning materials, etc., by monitoring stocks and initiating requisitions with adequate lead time.
  • 10% Ensures rental clothing is maintained in clean, serviceable condition by monitoring its condition and fostering quality consciousness among workers.
  • 15% Assures the linen/laundry operation breaks even financially by correlating staffing, rental charges, and purchases with the Temple Recorder. Supervises daily cash handling and accounting.
  • 5% Ensures the patron service area presents a pleasing, orderly appearance by monitoring its condition and initiating corrective action as needed.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of relevant experience (supervisory, commercial laundry, etc.).
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Experience in inventory control.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Basic financial background.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds; bend, kneel, stoop, pull, push, and perform physically demanding work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
