Description Department/Group: HC Operations Position Type: Variable Hours / Non-Exempt Job Description Caregivers provide in-home, non-medical services for people of all ages. Caregivers are dedicated to helping our clients lead dignified, independent lifestyles in the comfort and safety of their own homes. Caregivers provide compassionate care for people of all ages through professional, ethical and quality service. All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check, drug screen, and pre-employment physical to assess your ability to meet the essential functions of the Caregiver position. Role And Responsibilities ONE TEAM, ONE MISSION, CARING FOR ALL Companionship Accompany to doctor, restaurants, theater, movies, etc.Record personal memoriesPlay games/cardsAssist with hobbies and craftsRead books, newspapers, magazines or spiritual materialAssist with mail and making appointmentsConnect with family and friends via social media, email, Skype, etc.Discuss current events or share memoriesVisit friends, relatives or neighbors Light Housekeeping Organize and clean closetsPack and unpackWash dishesDust, vacuum and take out garbageProvide laundry and ironing assistanceCare for plantsChange linens and make beds Shopping and Errands Assist with groceries and other related activitiesAssist with refilling & picking up prescriptions Transportation Doctor, dentist and other appointmentsReligious services, shopping and local destinations Personal Care Assist with bathing and personal hygieneAssist with clothing selectionMedication remindersTransferring assistance (As needed)Assist with range of motion exercisesShampoo and style hair Meal Preparation Prepare meals, assist with eating and clean upPlan meals in advanceAssist with special dietsMonitor expiration date on foods Respite Care Provide relief for primary caregivers Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care Understand the behaviors and struggles, as well as the special care that is needed Hospice Care Provide supportive care in the final stages of terminal illnessFocus on comfort and quality of lifeOther Job duties as assigned Requirements QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Basic Minimum Qualifications Must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insuranceMust possess your own reliable vehicle to transport clientsMust have access to a mobile device with internet connectivityMust be 19+ years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent preferredBilingual proficiency preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Treat clients and their property with dignity, kindness, and respectCommunicate with clients and staff in a friendly and congenial mannerFollow verbal and written instructions, as well as document services providedFunction independently in a home setting with minimal supervisionComply with client privacy, confidentiality, and HIPPA StandardsFollow Mandated Reporter of Abuse and Neglect Laws Essential Functions Master Certified Caregivers: Forward bend, trunk rotation, kneeling/crouching to reach objects on the floor, underneath a bed, wheelchair legsClient transfer, client repositioning, bed mobility, light housekeeping, walking.Lifting and moving various equipment, client personal items. Able to lift 25 lbs.
