Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Over 18 years of age
- Valid Driver's license
- Sound judgment and flexibility
- Work-orientated, self-motivated, and independent
- Able to work in all types of weather, indoors, and outdoors in all temperatures
- Pass MANDT training
- Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the District Office
Essential Functions
- Helps students on and off the bus, including buckling and unbuckling seat belts or harnesses
- Assists students in and out of school buildings as needed
- Supervises students on the bus and assists with their needs, including students with disabilities and students who exhibit behaviors
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information
- Ensure all activities conform to District and State school transportation guidelines
- Maintain appropriate discipline when students are boarding, disembarking, and riding the school bus
- Report student concerns to the Principal and Director of Transportation & Maintenance
- Exercise responsible leadership at all times while working
- Communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with members of the school district and community through multiple modes of communication
- Operate all equipment and machinery safely and appropriately as necessary
- React to change and frequent interruptions productively and positively while still meeting deadlines as assigned
- Work to implement the vision and mission of the District
- Regular and consistent attendance at work
- Observe and follow all District policies and procedures at all times
- Report all accidents or incidents to the Director of Transportation & Maintenance along with completing all report forms in a timely manner
- Promote the safety, health, and comfort of students and staff within the District
- Perform other tasks and assume additional responsibilities as directed by the administration
Physical Demands

- Manual lifting, pushing, and pulling at least 50 pounds to waist height and 25 pounds to shoulder height
- Bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk and reach overhead
- Work in a variety of weather and temperate conditions from below freezing to high heat
- Physical exertion to manually lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials regularly
- Manually lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds to waist height and 25 pounds to shoulder height
- Bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk and reach overhead
- Work in and around dust, fumes, and odors
- Hear and understand speech at normal indoors, outdoors, and on the telephone
- Enter data into a computer, to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids
