Bus Attendant (SY26-27)

Responsibilities

• Attend to the general supervision of all students on the vehicle.
• Ride with the students in the back of the vehicle and not in the front seat unless only the front seat is available.
• Absorb students in and out of the vehicle if necessary.
• Check the vehicle to ensure that all students have exited at the appropriate stops.
• Ensure that all students wear seat belts where necessary.
• Prohibit students from consuming food or beverages, smoking, or bringing radios on the vehicle.
• Notify the school to which you are assigned at least one-half hour prior to your scheduled reporting time for the morning and/or at least two hours prior to your scheduled reporting time for the afternoon in the event of an absence.
• Perform other related duties as directed by their supervisors.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to enter/exit bus via steps repeatedly.
• Live in the City of Boston or be willing to move to the City of Boston if hired.
• Ability to lift 25-49 lbs.
• Proficiency in English.
