Full-Time APRN or PA-C for Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy at AdventHealth Orlando

About the Role

The APRN or PA-C, under the supervision of collaborating Physician(s), provides evaluation and treatment for patients in hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplant settings, including fundamental internal medicine related to hematologic malignancies.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical examinations of patients
• Evaluates and treats illnesses related to hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplant
• Manages and monitors patients in clinic, infusion center, and hospital settings
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests (e.g., laboratory, x-ray)
• Monitors patient treatment courses and makes referrals to physicians or specialists as needed
• Collaborates with physician supervisors and staff to ensure consistent patient care and staff support
• Performs procedures including bone marrow biopsies, skin biopsies, lumbar punctures, and IT Chemo (training provided)
• Participates in inpatient rounding at AdventHealth Orlando
• Rounds during the day and on weekends when on call
• Obtains DEA licensure post-orientation for prescribing controlled substances as permitted by law

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies
• Current, valid Florida APRN or PA license
• ANCC, AANP, NCCPA (or equivalent) certification
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Experience as an APRN or PA-C in Hematology/Oncology (highly preferred)
• Oncology nursing experience (highly preferred)
