Full Stack Web Developer

About the Role

We are a veteran-owned agency looking for a web developer who actively uses AI tools in their daily workflow to build and maintain real websites for small businesses, non-profits, and government agencies. At Sagentic Web Design, we handle everything in-house—writing content, designing logos, building sites, and maintaining our dedicated server infrastructure—without outsourcing or using WordPress.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain client websites using PHP 8.x, MariaDB, Bootstrap 5, and our proprietary CMS platform
• Work across dozens of client sites, not just a single product
• Use AI tools like Claude Code and Claude Desktop daily to write and refine code, reviewing AI-generated output critically
• Troubleshoot issues, implement client requests, and improve site performance with direct server access and autonomy
• Write accessible, standards-compliant code to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards
• Collaborate with a small team of web developers, creatives, and social media professionals

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development, or a related field
• Proficiency in PHP and SQL; comfort working with relational databases (this is a PHP shop)
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools, including effective prompting, critical review of AI output, and integration into production work
• Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, and responsive design; ability to build clean, accessible pages without relying solely on frameworks
• Strong problem-solving skills to manage diverse client sites with unique configurations
• Clear communication skills for collaborating with a small team and occasionally explaining technical decisions to clients

Schedule

This is a hybrid and flexible position. We prefer candidates who can work from or visit our Cañon City, Colorado office but are open to remote arrangements within the United States for the right person.
