Full Stack Software Engineer, Senior

About the role

As a senior full stack developer at Booz Allen, you’ll use your passion to master new tools and techniques and identify needed system improvements. You’ll help clients overcome their most difficult challenges using the latest architectural approaches, tools, and technologies. You’ll ensure the solution developed by the team considers the current architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements.

The senior software engineer supports the design, development, testing, and deployment of complex software systems that support critical operations. This role applies software engineering principles and SAFe Agile methodologies to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance applications. You’ll support cross-functional team collaboration to ensure software solutions meet technical, functional, and security requirements throughout the lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications using agile methods
• Write source code for new applications or generate and enhance code samples for existing applications
• Use back-end and front-end languages to develop complete solutions
• Create solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team
• Support the design, development, testing, and deployment of complex software systems
• Apply software engineering principles and SAFe Agile methodologies to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance applications
• Ensure software solutions meet technical, functional, and security requirements throughout the lifecycle

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications using agile methods
• 5+ years of experience in software development with basic programming languages, technologies, tools, or web development stacks
• Experience with Agile methodology, extreme programming, software engineering, product management, and software products
• Experience creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team
• Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
• Bachelor's degree or 8+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree

Nice to have

• Experience acquiring client requirements and resolving workflow problems through automation optimization
• Experience with Java, Python, C#, C, C++, .NET, JavaScript, React, NodeJS, PHP, or Drupal
• Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance
• Master’s degree

Pay

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,900.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD).

Schedule

This role may be remote, hybrid, or onsite:

• Remote: Occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility may be required.
• Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, aligned with leadership expectations and role needs; may also require work from or visits to a customer facility.
• Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers as required.

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
