Full Stack Software Engineer, Senior

About the role

This role is more than just coding. As an application developer, you’ll oversee a team as they learn new tools and techniques and identify needed system improvements. You’ll help clients overcome their most difficult challenges using the latest architectural approaches, tools, and technologies. You’ll make sure the solution developed by the team considers the current architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Derive software requirements from system and hardware engineers and develop them for production
• Write and review software product documentation

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with software design and development while helping lead a team
• Experience with development using technologies such as Java, Python, Go, Rust, or Structured Query Language (SQL) and NoSQL
• Experience with computer science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and software design
• Knowledge of the Linux operating system
• Ability to develop applications for Linux
• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or an Engineering field and 5+ years of experience with software, database engineering, or software testing or 10+ years of experience with software, database engineering, or software testing in lieu of a degree

Nice to have

• Experience designing and optimizing resilient, secure, and survivable applications to meet resource constraints
• Experience leading efforts to establish mature secure software development practices that lead to lower defect escape rates and resiliency against attack
• Experience with Python, JMS, JSON, XML, SOA, RESTful applications, or web front-end technologies, including Bootstrap, Angular, HTML, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, XML, or Ajax
• Knowledge of Cross Domain guard solutions, including Forcepoint High Speed Guards, OWL Data Diodes, and ISSE Guards
• Ability to confer with system and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and subsequently develop them for production
• Master's degree

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements.

Work model expectations:

• Remote: Generally remote, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
• Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with possible visits to customer facilities, aligned with leadership expectations and role needs.
• Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers as required.

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
