About the role

The College Board—a not-for-profit dedicated to educational excellence and equity—manages a complex suite of data systems, feeds, and reports. As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer on the Cross-Program Microservices team, you will design, develop, implement, and deploy AWS cloud solutions that ensure high data quality and process automation. You will analyze procedures, create design specifications, write and test code, prepare technical documentation, and maintain professional relationships with customers and cross-team members.

Responsibilities

  • Develop complex, serverless software solutions in support of data quality and automation.
  • Design, build, and monitor microservices—including UI components—using React, Node.js, and AWS Lambda.
  • Implement AWS cloud infrastructure (S3, IAM, CloudWatch, RDS, DynamoDB, SNS/SQS, CLI).
  • Apply object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD), UML, and database design principles.
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CloudFormation, BitBucket, Jenkins, and Ansible.
  • Write unit tests, create technical documentation, and adhere to deadlines.
  • Support Agile/Scrum teams in any capacity needed to ensure team success.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of professional software development experience.
  • Expert-level proficiency in React, Node.js, and cloud-based scripting.
  • Advanced experience with AWS Lambda, SNS/SQS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, RDS, DynamoDB, and AWS CLI.
  • Strong design and development experience building and monitoring microservices.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, distributed architectural patterns, and OO/computer-science fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with Agentic AI within software development.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field; AWS or other professional certifications preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • High analytical skills and experience developing tools for monitoring high-frequency data services.
  • Experience with AWS-supported languages: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python.
  • Hands-on use of KMS, ALB/ELB, Route 53, and VPC.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, and infrastructure-as-code scripting (CloudFormation).
  • Appetite for continuous learning and adopting new technologies.
