This position is a 5-month remote contract for a Full Stack Software Engineer (Java/React) based in the United States.
About the role
You will build and enhance modern full-stack applications in a fully remote environment, working across backend services and responsive frontend experiences. The role combines application development, cloud technologies, security, automated testing, and DevOps practices. You will help design reliable, scalable services while collaborating with technical stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle. The environment values strong engineering practices, clear communication, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain full-stack applications using Java 17+, Spring Boot/Cloud, and React.
- Build robust backend services and APIs using Spring Data, Spring Security, Hibernate/JPA, and related Java technologies.
- Develop modern frontend experiences using React JS, TypeScript, React Router, and Redux/Redux Toolkit.
- Design and work with relational and cloud-based data solutions, including Oracle and AWS data services.
- Deploy and support applications using AWS services such as EKS/ECS, API Gateway, ALB, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, and CloudWatch.
- Implement secure application architectures using OAuth2/OIDC, Azure Entra, IAM, Secrets Manager, Vault, and related security technologies.
- Build and maintain automated testing solutions using JUnit 5, Jest, React Testing Library, and Testcontainers.
- Apply DevOps and containerization practices using Git, GitHub or Azure DevOps/Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from development and testing through deployment and ongoing support.
- Collaborate effectively with technical teams and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, solve complex engineering problems, and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Maintain clear technical documentation and communicate progress, challenges, and solutions effectively in a professional environment.
Requirements
- Strong professional experience developing full-stack software applications with both Java and React.
- Advanced backend development skills with Java 17+, Spring Boot/Cloud, Spring Data, Spring Security, and Hibernate/JPA.
- Strong frontend development experience with React JS, TypeScript, React Router, Redux/Redux Toolkit, Jest, and React Testing Library.
- Experience working with Oracle and familiarity with modern data-storage technologies.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, particularly EKS/ECS, API Gateway/ALB, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, and CloudWatch.
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices and experience with Git, GitHub or Azure DevOps/Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience implementing application security using OAuth2/OIDC, Azure Entra or comparable identity platforms, IAM, Secrets Manager, and Vault.
- Experience writing automated tests using JUnit 5 and Testcontainers, along with modern frontend testing frameworks.
- Strong understanding of scalable application architecture, APIs, cloud-native development, and software engineering best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with diverse technical and business stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate independently and as part of a distributed team while managing priorities in a fast-paced development environment.
