About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Java Full Stack Software Engineer - Mid Level to join our dynamic Investment Experience Technology team within USAA's Technology group. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing high-impact solutions for our new investment services platform. Working in an agile, fast-paced environment, you will collaborate with a talented team to deliver scalable, high-quality software that enhances our digital-first investment solutions. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, code, and thoroughly test complex technical solutions aligned with project requirements.
- Investigate and resolve complex application and system issues, including production outages, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Conduct detailed systems analysis to recommend improvements and optimize operational efficiency.
- Prepare and implement complex solutions by defining system specifications, standards, and programming requirements.
- Adhere to and promote the software development lifecycle best practices.
- Participate actively in design reviews, contributing to key system design principles and best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and review peer code to uphold quality standards and foster team growth.
- Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, monitored, and controlled in compliance with policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree, or approved certification from recognized programs such as CodeUp, Galvanize, VetFIT, or eFIT.
- Minimum of 3 years of software development experience demonstrating technical proficiency in specific disciplines or technologies.
- At least 2 years of experience delivering end-to-end technology solutions across all phases of the software development lifecycle, including leading code and design reviews.
- Proficiency in one or more of the following: Java, JavaScript, C++, HTML, CSS, SQL, Python.
- Understanding of cloud technologies and tools, with experience supporting production issues and troubleshooting.
- Ability to articulate technical challenges and propose effective solutions.
- Developing business insight in areas such as operations, risk management, industry practices, and emerging trends.
