About the role

You will join an agile team within JPMorganChase’s Corporate and Investment Banking division, enhancing, designing, and delivering secure, stable, and scalable software components for the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products. As a Full Stack Software Engineer II, you will execute software solutions, troubleshoot technical issues, and grow your skills while contributing to multiple components of technical products and applications.

Responsibilities

  • Write secure, high-quality code using at least one programming language with limited guidance.
  • Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools (e.g., for code generation, refactoring, unit testing, documentation) to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
  • Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications.
  • Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation, to enhance the value of automation.
  • Troubleshoot and solve technical problems of basic complexity.
  • Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse datasets to identify problems and support secure, stable application development.
  • Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for developing secure, stable code and systems.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 2+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficiency in designing and developing full-stack web applications using technologies such as React.js and Java/Spring Boot, with experience in microservices architecture.
  • Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages, database querying (including NoSQL), and Kafka for messaging.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., for coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation) and the ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
  • Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies: React or Angular.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies: Kubernetes or AWS.
