Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by designing, building, and maintaining solutions that advance the quality, efficiency, and accessibility of care.
Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and implements full stack solutions to meet evolving business needs.
- Integrates AI/ML models and services into applications, partnering with AI/ML engineering on model behavior, deployment, and testing.
- Works with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translates them into technical specifications.
- Applies internal and industry development best practices across the full application stack, including testing and maintainability standards; performs peer reviews and contributes to technical documentation.
- Applies modern development tools, including AI-assisted technologies, across the development lifecycle to improve delivery speed and solution quality.
- Applies secure development practices and PHI/data privacy standards independently across the full application stack; identifies and remediates common security vulnerabilities.
- Works on multiple deadline-driven projects, meeting service level agreements and ensuring technical and business requirements are met.
- Diagnoses and resolves complex production issues; participates in incident response and contributes to root cause analysis.
- Participates in user acceptance testing and contributes to the preparation of training materials to support organizational adoption of new solutions.
- Communicates effectively with stakeholders, explaining technical concepts in plain language for non-technical staff.
- Mentors team members through pairing, feedback, and technical guidance
- Performs other duties assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values.
Qualifications
- Five years of professional software development with track record of delivering production systems end-to-end required.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or related field preferred.
Skills
- Advanced proficiency in multiple programming languages.
- Deep experience with cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of API design, database optimization, and system architecture.
- Experience with containerization and CI/CD pipelines.
- Working knowledge of secure coding practices and common application security vulnerabilities; demonstrated understanding of HIPAA/PHI handling requirements as applied to software development.
- Above average technical skills, problem-solving skills, verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance required.
- Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment required.
Physical Demands
Must talk, hear, and sit more than two-thirds of the day. Using hands occurs over two-thirds of the day, while reaching with arms occurs less than one-third of the day. Communicating is required over two-thirds of the day, while climbing, stooping, or crawling is minimal. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
