Full Stack Product Engineer (Node.js / React)

About the Role

This is a hands-on, mid-level full stack engineering position, not a lead role. You'll inherit ownership of a clean, modern platform rebuilt on Node.js, Express, MySQL, React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind. The role is roughly 70% backend and systems, 30% front-end, with full code ownership. You'll build high-leverage tooling for a large education platform, working in two-week sprints on a lean senior team.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service Admin Suite (Primary): Build and expand a unified admin panel for customer service to manage accounts, billing, and logins in one tool.
  • Member Experience (Ongoing): Maintain and improve the Circle member experience, including login, billing, account management, and lead flows, along with the commerce stack integration.
  • Affiliate System (Ongoing): Maintain, extend, and improve the affiliate system driving growth.
  • Own work end-to-end, from validation to peer-reviewed shipping, ensuring clean progress and early blocker identification.

Requirements

  • 4 to 6 years building production full stack applications in a professional engineering team with code review.
  • Front-end: Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind, iframes.
  • Backend: Node, Express, MySQL, Redis.
  • Cloud and hosting: Heroku, GCP.
  • Collaborative problem solving and pressure-testing plans before building.
  • Real AI fluency: using AI tools effectively and verifying their output.
  • US work authorization (citizens and green card holders only, no sponsorship).

Strong Differentiators

  • Proficiency with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor) and judgment to verify output.
  • Experience with n8n or workflow automation.
  • Based in Scottsdale or Greater Phoenix (on-site preferred).
  • 1 to 2 prior roles of roughly two years each, demonstrating ownership and stability.

Compensation

$105,000 - $120,000 depending on experience, plus benefits.
