About the Role

We are looking for experienced full-stack software engineers who are passionate about solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. This role involves writing code, pairing with other developers, decomposing acceptance criteria, and contributing as a strong member of an agile team. The Software Engineer has full-stack coding responsibilities and adheres to best practices in modern cloud-based software development, agile, and scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Apply depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, partnering continuously with stakeholders.
  • Develop and engineer solutions within an Agile software delivery team, collaboratively delivering sprint goals, writing code, and participating in team-level Agile and Scrum processes.
  • Contribute to the design, documentation, and development of world-class enterprise applications using the latest technologies and software design patterns.
  • Leverage technical knowledge to resolve issues within your area and related domains.
  • Follow and contribute to defining technical and team standards.
  • Collaborate with technical leadership to achieve established goals in line with Citi’s broader technical strategy.
  • Leverage AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to enhance development efficiency, accelerate delivery timelines, and optimize software solutions.
  • Maintain awareness of the evolving AI landscape and propose innovative approaches for product features.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex coding, application performance, and design challenges.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve development and performance issues.
  • Demonstrate a profound understanding of technical requirements for solutions under development.
  • Utilize Docker for containerization and Kubernetes for service orchestration.
  • Communicate progress, anticipate bottlenecks, and manage risks effectively.
  • Streamline, automate, or eliminate redundant processes in architecture, build, delivery, or operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven software development experience, specializing in Java, JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React), Spring Boot, and Oracle.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern application architecture principles.
  • Clear understanding of Data Structures and Object-Oriented Principles using Java.
  • Practical experience with AI tools to enhance development workflows.
  • Proficiency in Microservices frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot), Event-Driven Services, and Cloud-Native Application Development.
  • Multiple years of experience with Service-Oriented and Microservices architectures, including REST and GraphQL implementations.
  • Full-stack proficiency in designing, developing, and maintaining both front-end and back-end components of robust web applications.
  • Strong expertise in front-end development using JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React), HTML5, and CSS.
  • Solid experience in back-end development using languages such as Java or Python.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL, with expertise in Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), particularly Oracle.
  • Proven capability in designing, developing, and implementing high-performance RESTful APIs.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle, Docker, Jenkins, OpenShift).
  • Experience with AWS is a significant advantage.
  • Practical experience working within Agile development methodologies and tools such as JIRA.
  • Ability to develop and automate comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Solid understanding and experience with version control tools, including GitHub Enterprise.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.

Pay

Full-time salary range: $96,960.00 - $145,440.00. In addition to salary, eligible employees may receive discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
