Full Stack Java Development Engineer - AVP

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve software using Java (J2EE), Spring Boot, ReactJS, and other industry-aligned tools to deliver scalable, high-performance enterprise applications.
- Architect microservices and apply layered design patterns to address complex, real-world engineering challenges.
- Adhere to coding standards, unit testing practices, and quality benchmarks to ensure reliable, maintainable, and resilient systems.
- Demonstrate a problem-solving mindset with a focus on performance optimization, observability, and resiliency in distributed systems.
- Apply engineering best practices such as Design Patterns, CI/CD, and Test-Driven Development (TDD) while collaborating in agile, cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster technical excellence.
- Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
- Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
- Lead collaborative assignments, guide team members, and identify new directions for projects by leveraging cross-functional methodologies.
- Consult on complex issues and provide advice to support the resolution of escalated matters.
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures to strengthen controls and governance.
- Take ownership of managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to your work.
- Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple internal and external sources to solve problems creatively.
- Communicate complex information effectively, including sensitive or challenging content, to diverse audiences.
- Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.

Requirements
- Experience building full-stack solutions using Java (J2EE), Spring Boot, and ReactJS for scalable, high-performance enterprise applications.
- Experience designing microservices architectures and applying layered design patterns to solve complex engineering challenges.
- Strong adherence to coding standards, unit testing practices, and quality benchmarks for reliable and maintainable systems.
- Problem-solving mindset with experience in performance optimization, observability, and resiliency in distributed systems.

- Ability to collaborate effectively in agile, cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
Additional highly valued skills may include:
- Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases.

- Understanding of Financial Crime systems and related technologies.

Location
This role is located in Whippany, NJ.
Pay
Base salary range: $120,000 – $175,000. This range includes only base salary and does not account for other compensation or benefits.
