About the role
This role supports a major credit card servicing platform modernization initiative. The team is migrating applications from a legacy .NET environment to a modern architecture leveraging Java, React, MongoDB, and OpenShift. The engineer will work as a full-stack developer contributing to the modernization effort through application development, platform migration, and ongoing production support. While the primary focus is Java development, candidates with prior .NET experience are preferred to help bridge legacy and modern platforms throughout the transition.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and support full-stack applications using Java, React, and MongoDB.
- Participate in the migration of legacy .NET applications to modern Java-based architectures.
- Develop and maintain microservices deployed within OpenShift/Kubernetes environments.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, developers, and business partners on modernization initiatives.
- Build scalable APIs and integrations supporting credit card servicing platforms.
- Participate in bi-weekly production releases and release support activities, which may require support on Monday or Tuesday nights.
- Contribute to an on-call rotation for the new platform.
- Troubleshoot complex application issues and support platform stability.
Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of software engineering experience.
- 5+ years of Java development experience with version 15 or newer.
- 3+ years of React development experience.
- 3+ years of MongoDB experience.
- Experience with OCP/Kubernetes.
- Experience with Business Process Management applications such as IBM BPM, Pega, or Azure Logic.
Preferred Qualifications
- .NET engineering experience.
- AI prompt experience, including writing playbooks.
- Experience with Autosys.
Pay
$69 - $74/hour (OT40)
