Full Stack Engineer

We’re Bessy, an enthusiastic and ambitious software company from the Netherlands with an office on Bonaire. Our platform helps companies in the field service industry work smarter, with less hassle and more joy—from automated scheduling and customer communication to job tracking.

About the role

As an experienced Full Stack Engineer, you’ll help us develop Bessy further, build new features, and actively contribute to product development. You bring not only coding skills, but also knowledge of SaaS products and fresh, innovative ideas. You’ll have the freedom to shape improvements and the future of our platform.

Responsibilities

• Developing new features and functionalities for front-end and back-end;
• Improving and optimizing existing parts of our platform;
• Solving technical challenges related to performance and scalability;
• Building innovative solutions that truly help our users.

Requirements

• Looking for a 32-hour-per-week position;
• Already living on Bonaire or planning to move here for at least a few months;
• A degree at HBO level or higher;
• At least 5 years of proven experience as a developer;
• Skilled in at least some of the following: JavaScript, NodeJS, Docker, Python, OR tools, Google Maps, Mapbox, GIT;
• Experienced in developing scalable applications;
• Proactive and eager to learn;
• Enthusiastic (just like us!).

Schedule

This is a 32-hour-per-week position. We’d love for you to join us on Bonaire at the start to get to know the team and the product. After a few months, you can continue working remotely from wherever suits you best, with the expectation that you’ll join us in Bonaire once or twice a year for collaboration and team bonding.
