Full Stack Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Software Developer with 3-5 years of experience in Agile and DevSecOps methods. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and deploying micro-services and cloud-based systems, understanding stakeholder needs, and contributing to code reviews and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy modular micro-services and cloud-based systems
• Understand stakeholder needs and convey these to other developers
• Write and debug code for innovative software solutions
• Troubleshoot software quality, security, and reliability issues
• Participate in code reviews and quality assurance activities
• Automate unit and functional tests
• Test and examine code written by others and analyze results
• Ensure software is secure against cyber threats
• Identify technical problems, perform root cause analysis, and develop software updates and fixes
• Document software code, features, and training guides
• Perform gap analysis and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations
• Leverage virtualization and containerization to optimize and modernize software systems
• Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
• Mentor more junior team members

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance
• BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experience
• 3+ Years of experience with Java/React
• 3+ Years of experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket
• Experience with one or more clouds (I.e. AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience using CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Pipelines, CircleCI, TravisCI
• Experience implementing docker containers and utilizing platforms such as Kubernetes
• Experience implementing Automated Testing frameworks including unit testing

Preferred

• 3 years of application development experience in an Agile environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills

Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $85,000 to $170,000. Steampunk offers a comprehensive benefits package including:
