About the role
Join Schwab Technology Services as a Full Stack Developer and be part of a dynamic team transforming the finance industry. You will work on-site in the specified locations, developing scalable, resilient software solutions that support Schwab’s financial planning capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support RESTful services and microservices aligned with business priorities and client needs.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver high-quality applications.
- Participate in code reviews, maintain CI/CD-driven development workflows, and ensure quality through automated testing and trunk-based development practices.
- Support production environments, troubleshoot issues with urgency and accountability, and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Contribute to the team by sharing technical expertise, mentoring teammates, and expanding your skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of application development and software engineering experience.
- 2+ years of experience developing web applications using Angular or similar modern front-end frameworks.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java development.
- Experience using build automation tools such as Maven or Gradle.
- Experience designing, developing, and supporting RESTful APIs and distributed services.
- Experience delivering software solutions that align with established design principles and business objectives.
- Experience participating in engineering best practices, including code reviews, service discovery, testing, and environment management.
- Experience working with relational database technologies.
- Experience using source code management tools such as GitHub.
- Ability to support production environments, including participation in on-call support as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively, communicate technical concepts clearly, and incorporate feedback in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound technical decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the Financial Services industry.
- Experience incorporating quality engineering and test automation practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub, Bamboo, or similar platforms.
- Experience working with cloud-based environments, including private cloud platforms such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) and public cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience leveraging AI-enabled development tools, engineering automation, or productivity-enhancing technologies.
- Experience mentoring or coaching junior engineers and contributing to team development.
