Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
- Participate in Agile development as part of a cross-functional Scrum team, contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-structured code following team standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet user needs.
- Conduct peer code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure code quality, security, and performance standards are met.
- Write unit, integration, and functional tests; troubleshoot issues and optimize system performance.
- Identify and implement improvements to development processes, tooling, and system architecture.
- Contribute to build automation, deployment pipelines, and monitoring to improve development efficiency and system reliability.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, frameworks, and best practices in software engineering.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software development experience with a focus on API development.
- Proven experience in API development using RESTful and/or GraphQL services, including authentication, security, and performance best practices.
- Hands-on experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using modern testing frameworks.
- Experience with paired programming and mob programming.
- Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Some experience using modern front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, or Vue.js).
- Strong understanding of cloud environments and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/Cloudbees) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
Desired Skills
- Experience with microservices architecture and event-driven design patterns.
- Familiarity with domain-driven design (DDD) principles.
- Knowledge of observability practices such as logging, tracing, and monitoring (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Experience contributing to architectural decisions and technical roadmaps.
Pay
A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this role in the U.S. is $88,200 - $214,800.
