Full or part-time English Teacher
About the role
Millbrook School seeks an English teacher beginning in the fall of 2026. This position can be structured as either part-time or full-time depending on the schedule you can commit to.
Responsibilities
- Teach three sections of English III and one section of an upperform English elective.
- Prepare and deliver lessons aligned with the curriculum and state standards.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
- Engage students in discussions about literature and writing.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that foster critical thinking and creativity.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary units and projects.
- Participate in two seasons of coaching or the equivalent.
- Attend required meetings and workshops.
- Serve as an advisor for up to six students.
- Contribute to the school’s extracurricular activities and events.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in English or a related field.
- Prior teaching experience is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Passion for teaching and a commitment to continuous professional development.

Pay
The salary range for a full-time position is $42,000-$90,000, and $30,000-$38,000 for part-time. The salary range for part-time roles is pro-rated, and the exact salary will be determined based on the final agreed-upon weekly schedule and workload requirements. When determining placement in the salary range, Millbrook School considers the percentage of a full-time role, total teaching experience, number of years working at Millbrook School, and other factors permitted by law.
Schedule
The schedule for this position can be either full-time or part-time, with the option to discuss flexible hours and days.
