Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Full Charge Bookkeeper who enjoys owning the day-to-day accounting process while supporting a mission-driven organization. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, balances multiple priorities with accuracy, and brings a proactive, positive attitude to collaborating with internal teams and external partners. This role is a hybrid model in Portland, Oregon.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable, expense reports, check runs, and vendor payments across multiple cost centers.
- Prepare invoices, process billing, maintain the general ledger, post journal entries, and complete monthly account reconciliations and month-end close.
- Process semi-monthly payroll and support payroll-related activities while maintaining accurate financial records.
- Record and track donations, deposits, and financial transactions using accounting and donor management systems.
- Support financial reporting, maintain organized accounting records, and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent accounting experience will also be considered.
- Experience with full-charge bookkeeping, including accounts payable, general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop; experience with payroll systems and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
- Nonprofit accounting experience is a plus, but candidates with strong accounting backgrounds in other industries are encouraged to apply.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and grow.
Pay
$32-$38/hr. (DOE)
