Fulfillment Technician - 1st Shift
Second Nature Brands is on a mission to grow from $500M to $1B over the next 4 years through an aggressive combination of M&A and organic growth. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Fulfillment Technician to be an important member of the supply chain team during this growth.
About the role
The Fulfillment Technician supports daily customer fulfillment orders by pulling, packing, and preparing fulfillment-specific finished goods, including e-commerce variety packs, floor-ready store displays, and multi-pack shippers. This position may also work in other warehouse capacities such as Receiving, Shipping, and Logistics Support. The role requires standing and walking for long periods of time.
Responsibilities
- Performs all tasks in a safe manner, adhering to Company work rules and Good Manufacturing Processes.
- Builds packing boxes and/or trays and places product labels on pouches and shipping boxes as needed.
- Completes fulfillment orders following established finished goods spec sheets.
- Completes all quality documents (batch worksheets, pallet tags, and first/last article).
- Gathers finished goods from the warehouse or pre-production storage areas.
- Assists with inventory discrepancies and reconciles as needed.
- Carries out assigned cleaning tasks while maintaining a clean and safe work environment per Company SSOP’s.
- Safely operates a stand-up forklift to transport materials, including stacking and retrieving items from 3-high pallet racking.
- Meets Company's expectations of its Basic Beliefs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Warehouse Support
- Inspect, load, and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling of goods and maintaining safety standards.
- Follow FEFO (first expired, first out) inventory management procedures to ensure products with the earliest expiration dates are picked and shipped first.
- Participate in inventory audits and cycle counts, reporting discrepancies, and assisting with inventory reconciliation.
- Flexible in working both shifts as needed to ensure proper coverage during the absence of other warehouse team members.
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work safely around food allergens such as tree nuts, peanuts, soy, and sesame.
- Ability to work safely around/with automated and semi-automated machinery.
- Able to work with and around cleaning chemicals and perform all sanitation duties.
- Ability to work well in a team environment while maintaining a high level of individual responsibility.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Basic computer skills; ability to learn new applications quickly.
- Excellent attendance.
- Must be available to occasionally work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English to ensure comprehension of CGMPS and accurate completion of production documentation related to food safety and traceability.
- Must be able to pass E-Verify, background check, and pre-employment drug screen.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED is preferred.
- Prior experience working in a food manufacturing and warehouse facility preferred but not required.
- Stand-up and sit-down forklift experience in a warehouse setting preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Stand, bend, reach, and kneel for extended periods frequently.
- Standing for 8-10 hours.
- Walk up and down stairs frequently.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds and move items frequently.
- Wear proper PPE (personal protective equipment) provided by the company.
Work Environment
- Work near moving mechanical parts.
- The noise level in the work environment can be high; employees may be required to wear personal protective equipment.
- Indoor food manufacturing setting with exposure to food production areas, cleaning chemicals, and varying temperatures.
This position is based out of the Sahale Snacks facility in Tukwila, WA.
Pay
Pay range $23 - $27.10 per hour, depending on experience. Starting rate is $23 per hour.
Schedule
Regular working hours are Monday through Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm (schedules subject to change based on business need). Weekday or weekend overtime may be required as needed.
