About the role
As a Fulfillment Operations Team Leader, you enable a consistent experience for guests by ensuring products are picked, prepped, packed, sorted, and shipped safely, efficiently, and effectively. This role provides opportunities to build and develop skills for a career, including guest service, retail business fundamentals, workload planning, process improvements, and team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy, inspiring, and friendly experience.
- Train and hold team members accountable for guest experience and operational standards.
- Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, improve execution, and celebrate wins.
- Lead fulfillment goals, support sales growth, and contribute to total store profitability.
- Utilize workload planning tools to ensure scheduled tasks and orders meet delivery, freshness, and service standards.
- Evaluate fulfillment reporting to identify gaps and develop resolution plans.
- Create daily plans for your team with direction from your leader.
- Enable efficient delivery to guests by leading pickup and ship-from-store workload.
- Evaluate and recommend candidates for open positions; develop a guest-centric team.
- Establish clear goals around quality, accuracy, and timeliness; hold team members accountable.
- Close training gaps through coaching conversations.
- Ensure the team follows food safety guidelines and selects fresh items for guests.
- Order and stock supplies in partnership with your leader.
- Follow safe and secure training and processes; assume store-level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities as needed.
- Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices, being authentic, respectful, and creating equitable experiences.
- Lead a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; model and recognize safe behaviors.
- Support merchandise protection strategies, including ordering, storage, and application.
- Address store emergency and compliance needs; support guest services like back-up cashier, order pick-up, and Drive Up.
- Occasionally perform other duties based on business needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Previous retail experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
- Effective communication skills.
- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
- Interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately.
- Handle cash register operations as needed.
- Climb up and down ladders.
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving up to 44 pounds without assistance.
- Operate handheld scanners, frequency devices, and other technology equipment.
- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays) and reliable, prompt attendance.
