Pay

The starting pay range for this position is $21.25 - $23.25 per hour. The full pay range is $21.25 - $36.15 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

As a Fulfillment Operations Team Leader, you will enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring they get what they want, when they want it, and how they want it. This role focuses on operations, process, and efficiency in picking, prepping, packing, sorting, and shipping products safely and effectively.

This role provides skills and experience in:

  • Guest service fundamentals and building a guest-first culture
  • Retail business fundamentals, including sales trends, inventory management, and pricing strategies
  • Planning daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and sales goals
  • Process improvements and workload efficiency
  • Leading a team of hourly team members, including interviewing, developing, coaching, and retaining talent

Responsibilities

  • Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy, inspiring, and friendly experience.
  • Ensure every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers on Target’s guest experience commitments.
  • Actively observe and provide feedback, holding team members accountable while recognizing great guest experience moments.
  • Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, improve performance, and align the team on execution.
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes guest service. Model, train, and coach expectations to deliver the service standard.
  • Lead your team and drive fulfillment goals, understanding how your department contributes to total store profitability.
  • Utilize workload planning tools to ensure all scheduled workload is completed and orders are fulfilled to meet delivery, freshness, and service standards.
  • Review fulfillment reporting to identify gaps and develop action plans to resolve them.
  • Create daily plans for your team with direction from your direct leader.
  • Be an expert in operations, accuracy, process, and efficiency to enable efficient delivery to guests.
  • Evaluate and recommend candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
  • Establish clear goals around quality, accuracy, and timeliness, and hold team members accountable to expectations.
  • Close training gaps through coaching conversations.
  • Ensure the team follows food safety guidelines and selects fresh food items for guests.
  • Order and stock supplies timely in partnership with your direct leader.
  • Follow all safe and secure training and processes as a key carrier.
  • Occasionally assume store-level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities to enable the guest experience during assigned shifts.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful, and creating equitable experiences.
  • Lead and model a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance, holding others accountable.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies across the store, including ordering, storage, and application.
  • Lead and demonstrate best practices as outlined in team onboarding and learning, helping close skill gaps through development and coaching.
  • Address all store emergency and compliance needs.
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick-up (OPU), and Drive Up (DU) while maintaining a compliance culture.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Previous retail experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
  • Interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately.
  • Handle cash register operations as needed.
  • Climb up and down ladders.
  • Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment.
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, and holidays) with reliable and prompt attendance. Note: This role is full-time but does not guarantee 40 hours each week; hours depend on business needs.

This role requires a flexible work schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, closing shifts, and other peak shopping times.
