About the Company

Shibumi is a rapidly growing outdoor lifestyle brand based in Raleigh, NC. Founded in 2016 by two brothers and their best friend, Shibumi was created out of frustration with existing beach shade products. The company’s iconic first product, the Shibumi Shade, has garnered a cult-like following for its lightweight, easy-to-use, and durable design that works with the wind. In 2025, Shibumi launched its Shibumi Beach Chair, which became an instant best-seller and won awards from NY Times Wirecutter, Forbes, Dwell, the Daily Mail, and others. Shibumi products are sold through premium local retailers, direct-to-consumer, and Amazon.

About the Role

  • Partner closely with our CEO and management team on a variety of strategic initiatives.

  • Manage critical aspects of deliverables with a hands-on approach, including drafting correspondence and other tasks that facilitate execution on top priorities.
  • Prepare communication and research for the management team, including company updates, presentations, and data analysis.
  • Conduct meeting preparation and research: provide insights for all management meetings and ensure internal meetings have defined agendas and objectives.
  • Prepare presentations for internal and external audiences, including designing compelling presentations for company-wide and board meetings.
  • Provide ad-hoc support on projects small to large, such as presentations, research tasks, financial modeling, supply chain execution, distribution gains, new market and product explorations, and more.
  • Step in where help is most needed and assist in prioritizing the management team’s time by tackling projects on their behalf.
  • Attend meetings in place of the management team when necessary and summarize key takeaways and action items.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (4-year college degree) preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Sheets.
  • Excellent written communication skills, particularly via email and Slack.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

  • Self-Starter: Proactive in identifying issues, suggesting improvements, and taking initiative without waiting to be told what to do.
  • Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail, especially in repetitive but high-impact tasks, ensuring accuracy and catching mistakes.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in operations, logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in a warehouse or operations environment is preferred but not required.
