About the Role

Sanford Contractors is seeking motivated, independent, and experienced Fuel Truck Operators to ensure the company's assets have needed fuel and lube. This role offers steady and exciting work with a family-owned company and great benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example, demonstrating punctuality, dependability, and professionalism at all times.
  • Work with cost effectiveness, profitability, and safety in mind.
  • Control hazards by correcting them as soon as they are identified.
  • Communicate with the superintendent on the jobsite before leaving, providing status updates and reasonable time frames for equipment availability.
  • Participate in daily hazard briefings, sharing pertinent information.
  • Complete time sheets with accurate information from daily activities.
  • Work to meet daily production goals.
  • Inspect and inventory parts and supplies upon delivery.
  • Inspect equipment and hand tools; arrange for repair or replacement of deficient items.
  • Ensure all rigging for lifting is within capacity and blocking is stable and solid.
  • Take necessary actions to repair the root cause of failures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order of equipment, trucks, and trailers.
  • Leave work areas clean, removing trash, old parts, rags, and packaging.
  • Communicate time away from work with your team leader and other team members with sufficient notice.
  • Demonstrate willingness to work hours as required and adapt to changing priorities.

Requirements

  • Class B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
  • OSHA and MSHA training.
  • Technical training and familiarity with reading and interpreting parts, service, and technical manuals.
  • Forklift operation experience.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Ability to lift more than 50 lbs, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb ladders regularly.
  • Experience with shoveling, raking, using hand tools, and handling materials in and around trenches or uneven terrain.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills; must be able to read and speak English.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Willingness to react to changes in priorities.
