Fuel Truck Driver

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is a leading provider of comprehensive transportation and heavy civil construction services in the Mid‑Atlantic Region. The company is seeking a Fuel Truck Driver to support operations across various jobsites in Virginia.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL with Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements
• Manual transmission (preferred)
• Clean driving record (no major traffic violations, tickets, or accidents in the last 7 years)
• Pass pre‑employment DOT physical and drug screening
• Ability to lift 50 lb unassisted on a regular basis
• Pass background checks for secure facility access
• Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the U.S. full‑time

Responsibilities

• Know and follow Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and guidelines
• Complete daily pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and maintain inspection reports
• Maintain daily mileage and fuel dispense logs
• Safely operate a commercial vehicle in heavy traffic, construction sites, and tight areas
• Refuel heavy equipment using diesel fuel
• Grease all heavy‑equipment wear parts and fittings daily
• Perform fluid top‑offs as needed
• Keep assigned vehicle(s) clean and well‑maintained
• Adhere to the company’s health and safety policies
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with co‑workers

Pay

Base hourly range: $25.00 – $35.00. Compensation may vary based on education, experience, skills, and geographic location. Base pay is part of the total compensation package.

Schedule

Full‑time, year‑round. Start time is 6:00 AM. Overtime and weekends may be required.
