Job Summary

Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and operate fuel receiving, storage, distribution, and dispensing systems supporting installation operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fuel infrastructure, including pumps, valves, piping, filters, meters, gauges, regulators, vents, and associated mechanical and electrical components.
  • Diagnose system malfunctions and repair leaks, corrosion, faulty fittings, pumps, control devices, and distribution equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Lubricate, adjust, repack, repair, or replace pumps, valves, seals, bearings, gaskets, and other fuel system components.
  • Install, modify, remove, and replace piping, filters, dispensing equipment, storage components, and related fuel system infrastructure.
  • Clean fuel storage tanks, distribution lines, strainers, and filtration systems to maintain fuel quality and system performance.
  • Perform corrosion prevention, surface preparation, painting, and routine inspections of fuel facilities and equipment.
  • Maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot electrical and electronic controls associated with fuel distribution, monitoring, and dispensing systems.
  • Perform operational inspections, preventive maintenance, and functional testing to ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, engineering drawings, specifications, and work orders to perform maintenance and repairs.

Materials Coordination & Inventory Management

  • Coordinate the ordering, receiving, storage, issuance, and accountability of maintenance materials, repair parts, tools, and consumable supplies.
  • Maintain inventory records and monitor stock levels to ensure critical parts and materials are available to support mission requirements.
  • Research replacement parts and coordinate with procurement personnel and vendors to obtain materials in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Verify received materials for accuracy, quality, and compliance with purchase orders and technical specifications.
  • Organize storage areas and maintain proper handling procedures for fuel system components, hazardous materials, and maintenance supplies.
  • Track government-furnished property, company assets, tools, and equipment while ensuring proper accountability and documentation.
  • Assist with annual inventories, equipment audits, and material reconciliation activities.
  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel, supervisors, and supply personnel to prioritize material requirements and minimize equipment downtime.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Complete work orders, preventive maintenance records, inspection reports, labor documentation, equipment histories, and material usage records accurately and on time.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office applications to document maintenance activities and track assets.
  • Interface with customers, facility personnel, subcontractors, and government representatives to coordinate maintenance activities and provide status updates.
  • Operate company and government vehicles in accordance with applicable policies.
  • Maintain accountability for assigned tools, equipment, materials, and government property.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, Department of Defense (DoD), installation, OSHA, environmental, and safety regulations.
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Protect sensitive information and maintain confidentiality in accordance with company and government requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of facility maintenance, logistics, and installation operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining fuel storage, distribution, dispensing, or petroleum systems on military, industrial, commercial, or government facilities.
  • Experience with inventory control, warehouse operations, material management, or supply chain support.
  • Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), inventory management software, or government logistics systems.
  • Experience with Aboveground Storage Tanks (AST), Underground Storage Tanks (UST), fuel pumps, piping systems, manual and automated valves, and fuel dispensing equipment.
  • Familiarity with hazardous material handling, environmental compliance, and fuel quality management.
  • Previous experience supporting Department of Defense, Space Force, Air Force, or other federal government installations.
