Position Summary

The Special Relief Mechanic is a highly skilled lead technician overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of our Material Handling Equipment (MHE) fleet. The Mechanic possesses advanced mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diagnostic skills, while providing leadership, direction, and mentoring to other technicians.

• Provide leadership and daily direction to MHE technicians.
• Train and mentor technicians to improve skill levels and repair quality.
• Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and other MHE equipment.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, battery, brake, steering, and drive systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and ensure equipment reliability.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety requirements.
• Absorb with parts inventory and vendor coordination.

What You Will Bring

• A High School Diploma or GED.
• 5-7 years of MHE repair experience.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Strong electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 65 pounds
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing more than 65 pounds
• Frequently bend and stoop (50+ times per hour)
• Frequently climb on and off equipment, including forklifts
• Walk and/or stand on concrete surfaces for approximately eight hours per day
• Safely operate a variety of mobile equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts
• Work in varying temperatures ranging from approximately 20°F to 90°F+, including damp conditions
• Meet current and evolving productivity and performance standards

Pay

Salary range is between $34.50 - $35.50 Hrly
