What You Will Be Doing
- Conduct routine patrols of guest areas, public spaces, back-of-house areas, parking lots, and exterior grounds to identify and address safety or security concerns.
- Observe, investigate, and appropriately respond to suspicious activity, safety violations, theft, property damage, disturbances, or unauthorized individuals.
- Document daily activities, incidents, accidents, safety concerns, and security-related events using accurate reports and logs.
- Complete required incident reports involving guests, associates, or property-related concerns.
- Respond immediately to emergency situations, alarms, and requests for assistance and notify emergency personnel when necessary.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel emergency procedures, evacuation plans, safety policies, and disaster response protocols.
- Aid during medical emergencies and administer First Aid or CPR when certified and appropriate.
- Conduct investigations related to security incidents and provide detailed documentation.
- Enforce hotel policies, including access restrictions, guest and visitor policies, and the No Solicitation policy.
- Maintain security of hotel keys, access devices, and controlled areas.
- Provide security escorts for cash handling procedures, associates, or guests when required.
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and other operational support responsibilities as needed.
- Build positive relationships with guests and associates while maintaining a professional and approachable presence.
- Communicate security concerns and important updates with hotel leadership and appropriate departments.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and hotel operating standards.
- Complete additional responsibilities and special projects assigned by hotel leadership.
What You Bring
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in security, loss prevention, law enforcement, military service, hospitality security, or a related field preferred.
- Strong observation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and make sound decisions during emergencies.
- Ability to accurately complete reports, logs, and security documentation.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn hotel systems and reporting procedures.
- First Aid and CPR certification are preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations professionally.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations.
Physical Requirements
- This position requires frequent standing, walking, patrolling, bending, reaching, and moving throughout the hotel property.
- Candidates should be able to lift, push, or carry up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Work may involve indoor and outdoor environments, varying weather conditions, exposure to cleaning chemicals or mechanical equipment, and moderate to loud noise levels.
- The role may require prolonged periods of alertness and quick response to emergency situations.
