About the role
The Mammography Technologist, under the direction of the Radiologist and Radiology Director, performs all Mammography procedures in accordance with ACR, TDH, MQSA, state regulations, and departmental policies. Possesses highly technical skills to operate sophisticated equipment for the above-mentioned examinations. Responsible for QA maintenance, regulatory compliance, survey preparations, and competencies. The Technologist must exhibit expertise in patient care based on needs appropriate for all patient demographics.
Responsibilities
- Performs all Mammography procedures in accordance with ACR, TDH, MQSA, state regulations, and departmental policies.
- Operates sophisticated equipment for Mammography examinations.
- Maintains QA, ensures regulatory compliance, prepares for surveys, and demonstrates competencies.
- Exhibits expertise in patient care for all patient demographics.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved, accredited A.R.R.T. program.
- Documented mammography training.
- One year of diagnostic radiology experience preferred, and at least one year mammography experience required.
- Proves initiative and sound judgment required for utilizing and maintaining established guidelines of care by the MQSA.
Qualifications
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification.
- Mammography certification required (ARRT-M).
- Licensed as a radiologic technologist by the SCRQSA.
- CPR certification required.
Skills
- Highly technical skills to operate sophisticated mammography equipment.
- Expertise in patient care for all patient demographics.
