Job Summary

The Patient Access Clerk is responsible for performing diversified receptionist duties, coordinating all phases of patient visits, and ensuring proper documentation of records to provide optimal care. This position involves direct patient contact and requires the ability to interact positively with the public, enhancing the hospital image. Work assignments are determined based on adjusting daily scheduled appointments and prioritizing patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Collects all demographic/financial information from patients or insurance providers for registration.
• Documents total care given and maintains patient charts according to policy.
• Affixes accurate and timely entries of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system.
• Works professionally and non-defensively with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.

Requirements

• Ability to interact positively with the public.
• Proficiency in using computer systems for patient data management.
• Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures.
