About the Role

This Level 3 Field Service Technician will report to the Regional Support Manager and will service and maintain either multiple product lines supported by the GCD service team or a high-speed inkjet product line. The role requires extensive travel throughout the United States and is remote within the Los Angeles, CA area.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor critical accounts and actively participate in support activities to accomplish quick and effective problem resolution.
  • Analyze and evaluate equipment performance.
  • Install and remove equipment and systems as required, including modifications and engineering changes to ensure equipment meets specifications and maximizes customer productivity.
  • Perform pre-installation assessment and site inspection on equipment in accordance with requirements.
  • Provide customer phone support and technical support to other technicians as needed.
  • Assist sales in demos and customer visits.
  • Manage and perform preventative maintenance on trained equipment in coordination with the scheduler team.
  • Develop strong business relationships with customers and client personnel.
  • Complete all required reporting procedures related to equipment maintenance and repair, including administrative tasks, time tracking, and parts management.
  • Attend training classes to develop knowledge and skills for servicing GSD-supported equipment and advancing to a Level 4 position.
  • Perform weekend work and overtime as needed for installations, service calls, and training.
  • Communicate technical and escalated issues to the Regional Service Manager and Technical Service Manager.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by manager.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of field service experience with industry-related product lines.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent; working knowledge of electronics or 2+ years of field territory experience.
  • Computer skills with emphasis on operating systems and hardware.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), proficiency in Microsoft applications, and outstanding customer service.
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities to evaluate opportunities and challenges.
  • Valid state driver’s license (Real ID compliant) and passport.
  • Ability to travel extensively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and training.
  • Relevant experience with the specific product line targeted for this position.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Understanding of the importance of communication in customer relationships.

Pay

$35-$39 per hour depending on experience.
