Job Summary
The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician supports the QA Supervisor in managing and enforcing the plant’s food safety and quality systems, ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to company standards. The technician is responsible for monitoring HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, and other QA programs. This role involves product specifications’ monitoring, detailed documentation, real-time corrective actions, and clear communication across all levels of the production process to maintain consistent product quality and safety.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
- Working knowledge of food safety and quality systems, including HACCP, GMPs, and SSOPs,
- Intermediate computer proficiency (e.g., data entry, basic spreadsheets, document management),
- ability to stand firm on quality issues while maintaining respect with staff,
- excellent attendance, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Must have the willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment,
- prior experience in a QA Technician or QA Lead Technician role,
- knowledge of the company’s products and equipment,
- knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (e.g., USDA, FDA, third-party audits),
- strong focus, time management, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, and other QA programs,

- Implement real-time corrective actions,
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the production process.
Physical Demands
- Regular standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting (up to 50 pounds),
- Use hands for tasks, reach with arms, communicate verbally, and perform detailed paperwork and inspections requiring focus and precision.
