About the role

Join our team as a Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality in a food manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems.
• Document and calculate results accurately.
• Take corrective action when necessary, such as alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, and reporting results to management.
• Handle additional assignments as requested.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in the food manufacturing industry OR related Quality Assurance type experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to complete Tyson paperwork.
• Leadership skills to motivate the hourly workforce.
• Good problem identification and problem-solving skills.
• Math and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret product specifications.
• Ability to function well under stress.
• Flexibility to work where and when needed.

Physical Requirements

• Willing and able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day.
• Work in cold/hot temperatures typically ranging from 30-90 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Work in wet environment.
• Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to reach high and low levels frequently.
• Ability to climb step ladders and/or stairs.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Safety equipment required: steel-toed work boots, hardhats, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), and smocks. Cell phones and jewelry are not permitted on the factory floor.

Position will require Lock Out Tag Out certification.
