FSQA Quality Assurance Technician - 1st shift

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, And Key Accountabilities

  • Provide daily monitoring of the facility and personnel to ensure compliance with the food safety system
  • Perform a formal audit on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Ensure training of facility personnel on GMPs, Risk Preventive Controls, Hazard Analysis, pre-requisite programs, and other food safety system elements
  • Collect and analyze product samples as required, and document information derived from analysis
  • Safely keep records of all facility analytical results and immediately report results out of specification to the QA supervisor
  • Provide documented reports of analytical results to the QA supervisor and track and report data trends
  • Inspect raw materials coming in, assist in investigating non-conformance and complaints about product, and lead facility team in self-audits
  • Aid in hosting visitors to the facility, including regulatory agency representatives and customer representatives, and function as the main host for facility third-party auditors
  • Ensure product is processed according to the company's HACCP/HARPC programs
  • Inform Quality Assurance Management of any food safety issues
  • Implement and manage food safety corrective actions
  • Commit to continuous improvement and quality service
  • Prioritize and accurately perform position responsibilities to deadlines
  • Follow health, safety, and cleanliness standards
  • Communicate effectively in English
  • Balance productivity, quality, and safety
  • Work in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

  • Experience performing administrative work including completing and reconciling paperwork preferred
  • Prior quality assurance experience preferred
  • Prior manufacturing experience, preferably in food manufacturing, preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable FDA regulations and GMPs preferred
  • Computer skills including basic Microsoft Excel required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, food manufacturing setting preferred

Physical Demands And Working Conditions

  • Largely a static role with standing, but requires repetitive bending and standing up
  • Ability to lift 10-35 lbs. repetitively and up to 45 lbs. occasionally
  • Must be able to push/pull up to 250 lbs. on rollers occasionally
  • Works in a wet and cold/refrigerated environment (around 35 degrees F) located within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production type facility
  • Must be able to withstand cold temperatures for the duration of the shift
  • May process, pack, and/or store products containing allergenic food ingredients, requiring ability to work with these ingredients
