Job Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adequately adhere to proper manufacturing methods to maintain Food Safety and Quality expectations.
- Collaborate and resolve issues quickly and efficiently, focusing on the company's Core Values.
- Drive accountability of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all site personnel.
- Ensure product processes are followed throughout the product’s production cycle, including boxing and/or packing if applicable.
- Verify and monitor SQF, GMP, HACCP, QCCP, and SSOP procedures are being followed.
- Conduct process audits for quality and nutritional issues.
- Assess finished products for acceptability.
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments, develop corrective actions, and monitor their implementation and maintenance.
- Assure compliance with all GMP, company food safety and quality policies, and USDA regulations.
- Communicate with plant production management, QA Manager, and SQF Practitioner on all issues related to product quality and food safety.
- Study, identify, and resolve other food safety and product quality problems as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a food science or related discipline, with 1-3 years experience in a meat-processing environment, or
- An Associate’s degree and 3-5 years experience in a meat-processing environment, or
- Five to seven years of experience or the combination of experience in Meat-processing, Quality Assurance, and/or Research and Development.
- A thorough knowledge of Food Safety and Quality is required.
