About the role

We seek a candidate interested in contributing to the development of teaching and the academic environment in organization and leadership at the UiT Business School. The position is located at UiT in Alta, a city well-suited for outdoor activities year-round.

Responsibilities

• Teaching, supervision, and assessment at bachelor’s and master’s levels, including programme development
• Active participation in curriculum planning, delivery, evaluation, and improvement
• Engagement in research and development (R&D) within the field of organization and leadership
• Contribution to securing external project funding
• Collaboration in interdisciplinary teams and with students to foster a positive work environment

Requirements

• Associate Professor (førsteamanuensis): PhD in organization and leadership or a closely related field, or equivalent scientific work of the same scope and quality.
• University Lecturer (universitetslektor): Master’s degree or equivalent in organization and leadership or a closely related field; candidates with an experience-based master’s in leadership/organization may also qualify if they have a coherent specialization within the field.
• Documented educational competence for teaching and supervision at university/college level (to be acquired within two years if not already held).
• Proficiency in oral and written Norwegian or another Scandinavian language at B2 level according to the Common European Framework.
• Proficiency in English for teaching purposes.
• Collaborative skills and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and students.
• Willingness and ability to contribute to a good working environment.
• Commitment to research and development activities, including efforts to secure external funding.

Qualifications

• Research activity and experience with externally funded projects, and established research networks.
• Relevant experience from industry or practical organizational contexts.
• Familiarity with modern methods in the field, with particular attention to the use of digital tools/AI.
• Additional advantageous qualifications include competence and/or experience in innovation and entrepreneurship.

• Up to ten central scientific works (including the doctoral thesis).

Pay

• Associate Professor: Salary grade code 1011, gross annual salary NOK 750,000 – 890,000 (100% position).
• University Lecturer: Salary grade code 1009, gross annual salary NOK 650,000 – 825,000 (100% position).
• In special cases, higher salary may be considered.
• 2% mandatory contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund is deducted from gross salary.

Schedule

• Flexible work time distribution determined individually.
• Typical allocation for Associate Professors: up to 50% R&D, 50% teaching and administration; for University Lecturers: up to 20% R&D, 80% teaching and administration.
• Approximately 5% allocated to administrative tasks.
