Frozen Dairy Department Manager

About the role

The Frozen/Dairy Department Manager ensures the successful operation of the department by obtaining maximum sales and gross profits through effective utilization of personnel and resources. Responsibilities include accurate record keeping, customer service, employee relations, labor and expense control, inventory management, shrink reduction, and public relations.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate ordering, receiving, merchandising, pricing, and freshness of products
• Maintain housekeeping of work, display, and storage areas
• Ensure food safety and implement safety programs
• Rotate and remove out-of-date merchandise to control freshness
• Provide front-end support by running a register, bagging, or carrying out groceries
• Manage stocking and inventory to minimize shrink

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
