About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Frontend Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert technical support, maintenance, and enhancement of a client application. Your focus will be on ensuring the application's accessibility, reliability, and optimal performance within an Agile, sprint-based development environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in modern web technologies, JavaScript frameworks, and responsive design principles, with a keen understanding of Section 508 compliance and RESTful APIs. Additionally, experience with AWS, Git/GitHub, and open-source solutions will be essential in delivering scalable, user-centric applications that meet federal security and accessibility standards.
Due to the nature of our work supporting federal contracts, employees may be required to handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and must adhere to safeguarding and compliance protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects that serve national interests while working remotely with occasional travel based on project needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical support for maintaining and enhancing the client application
- Implement development, accessibility, integration, and optimization enhancements
- Ensure the application's availability, correct operation, and performance standards are met
- Work within an Agile sprint-based development cycle to deliver incremental improvements
- Leverage knowledge of AWS cloud services, Python backend, and TypeScript frontend technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate design mockups into functional web layouts
- Conduct accessibility testing and ensure compliance with Section 508 and WCAG standards
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to maintain high-quality deliverables
- Support troubleshooting and resolving technical issues promptly
- Assist in integrating RESTful APIs and other backend services into the frontend application
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of frontend development experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or 6 years of equivalent experience
- Proficiency with modern web technologies including HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design
- Experience with JavaScript development using modern standards, frameworks, and libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js)
- Strong understanding of Section 508 compliance and WCAG standards for accessibility
- Experience with accessibility testing tools (automated and manual)
- Ability to consume RESTful APIs effectively
- Experience working within agile methodologies and sprint cycles
- Proficiency with version control systems such as Git/GitHub
- Experience creating web layouts from static images, views, and templates in full-stack frameworks
- Knowledge of AWS cloud environment, Python backend, and TypeScript front-end development is preferred
