Front Office Specialist I - TCP Kingwood

About the role

We are searching for a Front Office Specialist who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will coordinate and perform patient scheduling, greet visitors, handle incoming calls, manage the referral process, enter accurate billing information, and transmit claims.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors upon arrival using Creating SMILES philosophies and AIDET principles.
• Assist patients with check-in/check-out.
• Answer telephone within three rings and direct calls per practice protocol.
• Document complete and error-free messages in telephone encounters and route them to the appropriate area per practice protocol.
• Enter hospital charges into the electronic billing system with 100% accuracy and within established timelines.
• Assess patient eligibility for referrals by verifying coverage with the payer prior to initiating the referral.
• Document eligibility in the electronic health record per practice protocol.
• Schedule appointments per practice protocol.
• Demonstrate ability to use judgment when scheduling provider templates.
• Verify and document coverage of services prior to the patient being seen by a provider.
• Monitor Account Work queue and Patient Work queue weekly, determine appropriate corrective action, and complete required corrections.
• Ensure the electronic health record is complete and ready for provider use prior to the patient being seen.
• Collect and disseminate mail and deliveries per practice protocol.
• Monitor the returned mail work queue and correct entries in the electronic billing system within fourteen days.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year or more of related experience required.
