Front Office Coordinator
Overview
Virginia Cancer Specialists, an affiliate of McKesson Specialty Health and US Oncology, a leader in cancer care, is seeking a full‑time Front Office Coordinator for our Cancer Center in Fairfax, Virginia. The role acts as a liaison with physicians, patients, and other office staff and supports the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities
- Schedule meetings
- Coordinate front office work and patient‑flow activities
- Move appointments to fit in new consults
- Contribute to the team to achieve financial, operational, and customer‑service goals
- Balance team receipts daily and reconcile daily work
- Train new front office team members
- Prioritize clerical tasks
- Check‑in and check‑out patients in a timely, accurate, and professional manner
- Assist in better organization and planning of physicians’ time
- Attend and take meeting minutes as directed, in a professional and timely manner
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum three years of medical office experience
Physical Demands
The position may require sitting for long periods, stooping, bending, and stretching for files and supplies. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds is needed. Manual dexterity is required to operate a keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier, and other office equipment. Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be within the normal range for telephone contacts. Prolonged viewing and typing on computer screens is necessary.
