Barista Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and cheerfully.
- Thorough knowledge of our menu and ingredients including allergens in order to answer customer questions about our products.
- Fill pastry orders and make coffee and sandwiches following all health and safety codes for proper handling of all food and drink items.
- Maintain cleanliness in all front of house work areas including pastry counters, coffee and sandwich making stations, indoor and outdoor customer dining areas and restroom.
- Restock pastries and other supplies throughout the day such as napkins, pastry bags, boxes, utensils, cream and sugar, cups and dishes, etc.
- Wipe down and sanitize dining tables when customers leave, and refresh sanitizer bins and empty trash cans according to schedule.
- Assist with all cleaning duties as stated on opening, closing and weekly checklists.
Barista Requirements
- Experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service preferred.
- Exceptional listening and communication skills.
- A diligent and efficient worker who thrives in a fast-paced environment with ability to multi-task, problem-solve and adapt to changes.
- A quick learner with ability to take responsibility and direction well.
- Ability to walk, bend, stand and climb stairs for the duration of the shift.
- Available to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- A polite and engaging personality with a commitment to outstanding customer service.
