Front Line Leader- Relief
The Job
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of their assigned shift. This position will at some point be required to take a Shift Supervisor position that may include the night shift. Provide relief coverage for counterpart supervisors on various shifts, as needed. Direct and supervise crew. Perform daily rounds to ensure that all equipment is safe and operational. Ensure that all safety and housekeeping items are completed and addressed, as needed. Carry out preliminary Incident and Accident Investigations. Ensure that payroll and timekeeping records are complete and accurate. Monitor the accuracy of forklift checklists and ensure completion. Follow up on items that need to be addressed. Daily record and monitor the gas meter readings. Collect, review and file back tender log sheets. Maintain daily logbook. Ensure that all company policy and procedures are followed and understood. Participate in mill shutdown activities, when scheduled. Ensure that team safety training is up to date. Maintain operator tool inventory. Ensure that job qualification sheet is maintained.
Skills
The qualified individual must have three to five years of supervisory experience in a paper manufacturing environment. This experience will include direct supervision or team management. Engineering background is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Must be always alert and aware. Comfortable with high heat areas/extreme cold areas. Stand/Walk/Sit/Push /Pull/Climb/Crawl/Squat/Kneel/Bend Lift/Carry-Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more. Reach Outward/Reach Above Shoulder
